This little girl was such a thin, tiny little thing when she came to Three Angels. She was light as a feather and so timid - her personality seemed to mimic her physical state, like she was shrunken. This is Taina last May:
This past trip I noticed a remarkable difference. Her skin was clear and her eyes were bright. She had lost that red tint to her hair (a sign of malnutrition). In fact, it looked like she had grown much more hair altogether. Her personality had also grown - she was engaging and cheerful. And she has a family - I think her knowing that has been a tremendous factor in her metamorphosis. Taina in June '08:

long time no post. welcome back.
i only first met Taina in August of '07 and i've noticed change in her even since then! there is a huge difference in the pictures!
Praise God for the work He has begun in this little girls life. And thank God for Three Angels and all the lives they have influenced and changed.
Okay, what is going on here? The Lord woke me from sleep last night to pray for this little girl and her family. I was up for hours! And now here is a post about her today... She is a treasure. I just adore her. She is so patient and kind! I have watched her open gifts at the O and she always passes them out for everyone to share- all except her family photo, that is! I did not know about her poor condition when she first came there. Thank you for sharing. I will keep her in my prayers!
she has made such a huge transformation, praise be to God! i love watching lives change at three angles. this is a beautiful portrayal, shannon. thanks for posting!
Still to this day I am in awe at the transformation these children go thru, especially after finding out they have a forever family. Maybe it's the sense of belonging to someone that changes us all. Whatever it is, I LOVE it!
Thank you for sharing!
wow, a post! those pictures of your kids were cute (and, yes, dorky), but after several times visiting your blog and seeing those at the top...it was getting old.
praise God for three angels!
Praise God for the transformation! She is an incredible little girl!
Thanks Shannon for a beautiful post about our little girl. We have several photos of her on the fridge, in chronological order and the change in her is astounding. As well as gaining health and nutrition she has also changed from a toddler into a little girl!
We are yet to meet you Shannon, but thank you for passing on your observations and for taking an interest in each child. Hopefully we will be able to meet at some point.
I remember the day I first was at the O and Gretchen handed me Taina and said "Here, hold her, she is in desperate need of love". It just melted my heart hearing her weasing and that belly poping out... when we went back 2 months later... she looked even better already... and this recent picture is awesome!!! Thank you God for restoration!!!
